Elevating stroke as a national priority in APAC

Stroke is a leading cause of death in APAC, claiming millions of lives and leaving countless disabled. Yet, early action can change the outcome. ASPA unites stakeholders to build a future where timely stroke care is accessible to all.

How We Advance Stroke Policy

ASPA supports governments and stakeholders through structured, evidence-informed and country-driven approaches designed to strengthen national stroke responses across the full continuum of care.

  • We assess policy gaps, system challenges and priority areas using international evidence, comparative experience and national data — always adapted to local health system contexts.

    • Identify system-level policy and organisational gaps

    • Analyse data to clarify priority areas

    • Align global recommendations with regional realities

  • We design and facilitate structured dialogues that bring together public authorities, clinical experts, civil society and partners to build shared understanding and practical solutions.

    • Convene cross-sector stakeholders

    • Clarify priority problems

    • Explore feasible policy options

  • We support the development of decision-oriented outputs grounded in evidence and informed by dialogue, tailored to national decision-making processes.

    • Policy briefs

    • White papers

    • Strategic roadmaps and frameworks

    • Dialogue summaries and recommendations
