Our work
ASPA supports the development of stroke policy through structured, evidence-informed and country-driven approaches.
Our work focuses on strengthening national stroke responses across the full continuum of care - from prevention and acute treatment to rehabilitation and long-term management - by addressing system-level gaps in policy, organisation and coordination.
We support governments and stakeholders in developing coherent, feasible and sustainable policy approaches, with attention to alignment across institutions, clarity of roles, and long-term accountability within health systems.
How We Work
Evidence-Based Policy
We assess policy gaps, system challenges, and priority areas using relevant international evidence, comparative experience, and available national data—carefully and systematically adapted to local health system contexts and constraints.
Dialogues
We design and facilitate structured, multi-stakeholder dialogues that bring together public authorities, clinical experts, civil society, and partners. These dialogues clarify priority issues, explore policy options, and build shared understanding.
Policy Outputs
We support the development of policy recommendations and strategic outputs designed for real-world use. All recommendations are grounded in evidence, informed by dialogue, and tailored to national decision-making processes.
From Policy Work to Policy Outputs
Our policy work leads to practical, decision-oriented outputs that support national stroke policy processes. These outputs are the result of structured analysis, dialogue and collective decision-making. Examples include:
White papers
Policy briefs
Roadmaps and strategic frameworks
Charters and alignment documents
Summaries and recommendations from policy dialogues
